A weekly newspaper located in northern Kentucky is seeking a publisher. The newspaper has a circulation of almost 4,000 paid subscribers, including newsstand sales and a free county-wide shopper. The newspaper is located within 50 miles of Cincinnati.
The newspaper serves as the eyes and ears of the community it serves and reports the births, marriages, court records, school news, church news, and other happenings making history in the county. Monthly meetings of the city and county governments are covered in the paper as well as school board news and other club and organization meetings.
The ideal candidate will have newspaper management experience as well as print and digital sales experience. The candidate will have a vision for how to adapt to the changing media environment effectively and the energy and initiative to make that happen. The successful candidate must be an aggressive marketer, committed to driving revenue and improving existing products while developing new ones, and will be expected to be active in the life and leadership of the community.
The publisher will be expected to plan, organize, coordinate and direct all operating activities at the newspaper. He or she will be responsible for achieving the newspaper’s financial goals and objectives and will also need to handle key accounts in the region that the newspaper serves.
