Mike Wilson is editor of The Dallas Morning News, who became the first editor recruited from outside the newspaper’s staff in 35 years when he took the job in 2015. He joined the newspaper from ESPN’s FiveThirtyEight, the data-driven digital-only operation that he joined in December 2013. He began his career as a reporter at The Miami Herald and spent 18 years at the Tampa Bay Times. In his last two years at the paper he served as its managing editor, leading a newsroom of 240. He was the principal editor for a story that won the 2009 Pulitzer Prize in feature writing.
